Making a Realistic Lifestyle Change this Year

By Richardo Manning

New Year's resolutions concerning fitness are some of the most common resolutions in America. Unfortunately, they are not only among the most common goals set but they are also among the most common goals that are not accomplished.

Healthier bodies have all sorts of positive effect on individuals but the prevailing culture dictates that this be done in the simplest and quickest way possible. So the search for the quick and easy way to get healthy continues.

Making successful lifestyle changes can be a difficult process and you should do everything that you can to set yourself up for success. The first key to success will be setting goals that are attainable, realistic and manageable.

Some people overload themselves with goals at the beginning of the new year. Rather than overloading yourself with an excessive amount of goals you should make one goal that is specific and will have beneficial repercussions in your life.

As you exercise you will probably find that you are able to fall asleep more easily and that you are going to be able to stay in your deepest stages of sleep for an extended amount of time. You will also find that waking up will feel different after getting a better sleep.

Exercise bikes simulate the same, or often better, exercise that a person would get by riding their street bikes down the road from the comfort of your own home or local gym. As with any tool or piece of equipment, knowing how to properly use your exercise bike will yield the best results to your overall health.

If you feel that you are too busy to go to a gym on a consistent basis, shop for equipment that you can use at home. There are websites like that can provide you with a wide variety of equipment that can help with your cardio equipment.

Each of these items should be adjusted to your specific specifications that will allow for the most effective use of the bike. The seat should be adjusted up or down to where your legs come to a position just short of locking at the knee to allow for full extension without the constant wear of locking the joint.

When purchasing equipment for your home, you should be sure that you have something that will not only fit in your home but is also going to provide you with the exercise that you need. Try out a few different pieces of equipment before you make your final decision.

Setting a budget before you head out to shop is also a good idea. There is a huge price range when it comes to exercise equipment and you should be sure that you know what you are going to be able to afford and how you can be sure that you stay within your range.

Start your process of change today. Identify what you can be doing better for your fitness levels and take the time to institute changes that will help you maintain health throughout the rest of your life.
